The magical wonder drink with just a few basic kitchen ingredients.
1 tablespoon Ajwain (Bishop's Weed/Carom Seeds), 1 teaspoon Jeera (Cumin Seeds), 1/2 teaspoon black pepper corns, 1.5 litres of water
Collect the Ajwain, Jeera & Black pepper corns together.
Heat a deep pan/pot on a low flame and put all the 3 ingredients & roast till they slightly change color & leave their aroma. Do not over heat else it will get burnt & will spoil the taste of the drink.
Now, add the water to it & let it remain in the simmered flame. Do not cover the pot/pan. Leave it till it reduces to just 2 cups. Serve warm.
There are variations to it. It is best consumed w/o salt however salt can be added. You can even add jaggery or honey instead of sugar to make it sweet. For it you need to separately melt the jaggery in low flame. Just sprinkle little water on the base before melting. There is no need to add water over & above it. This is best consumed to cure indigestion, constipation, vomiting.
To treat cold & cough: Add crushed ginger when you add water to the roasted ingredients. Top it with 3 powdered cardamom & 10 - 15 tulsi leaves (Basil leaves) to this. Finally add the Jaggery water & serve warm. There is nothing better than this drink to treat your cold. You can make extra glasses & before drinking heat it. Do not store it for the next day. You are supposed to drink it freshly made.
You do not have to get cold or indigestion to drink this. It can be consumed just for good health as this will boost your immunity.
Do not over heat & burn the ingredients.
