In recent times tension has become common for children. More so in teenagers. They are either worried about living up to the expectation of their elders in various fields, about incurring the wrath or suspicion of their parents. Some times they are so hurt by the harsh words of their parents regarding their failure that they are resorting to suicide.
They can be made to understand that elders mean well when they admonish, as long as parents are not over ambitious.
Parents can try to develop good rapport , by giving weight to the feelings of their children, caring for their likes and dislikes
explain as to why they are being strict with regards to education or discipline without using harsh, hurting words. Encourage to do better in any field than before.
allot more time to your children to understand them, observe for any changes in their behavior and have time and patience to listen to their problems
approach the children through their friends and relatives if you find that you are not able to communicate with them.
explain in a gentle manner, the family’s financial condition, and their need to feel responsible
