When you relocate to another place, amongst the various important things you worry about is that of Cooking Gas Transfer.
Well, this is not such draconian issue as it seems! So relax.

First approach your current gas supplier in the city where you have been getting supplies.

  1. Give him a letter that you are relocating to the new place & that you want to transfer the gas connection there.
  2. Along with the letter carry your gas cylinder(s), regulator.
  3. Also carry your original Subsription Voucher under which the current gas connection was given.

Stop a moment here, if your connection is quite old & that you have therefore misplaced the same.
In which case, you have to go through a procedure before you go to the gas supplier with the gas cylinders, regulator & your letter. There is an Affidavit Form, available with the gas agency, if you do not have the original Subscription Voucher. Get that Form. Get this typed on Rs.80 Stamp Paper.

Then take it to a Notary Public & sign it before him. He will check your Id (carry any acceptable Id such as Ration card, passport, Driving licence etc) & sign 7 stamp the Affidavit for a small fee of Rs.50 or so.

You are now ready to go to your gas agency with the Affidavit + cylinders + regulator + your letter.
Your Agency will check thse & immediately issue a Termination Letter on your gas co's Format, with which you can peacefully go to your new agency at the town/ city where you want to tregister for your gas connection.

The new Agency HAS to honour this & give you connection IMMEDIATELY.
Relax, Have a Nice Day!
