Deciding upon a match for an arranged marriage has become complicated over the years.  Lot of negative publicity with regards to failed arranged marriages, increasing divorce rates and lack of trust between families has made things worse.  Here are a few tips on ensuring that your marriage alliance might work for you.

Steps

1

Get blood tests done for diabetes, HIV and Rh factor. If a person with Rh +ve marries a person with Rh –ve it could cause deformities in children often resulting in death.

2

Find out if the groom is an alcoholic, which may affect  his liver, and lead to complications. If he is a compulsive smoker, it could affect his lungs and create complications.
Lookout for blood pressure, for high BP in youngsters is not a good sign.

3

Clinical history of the family is also important. Make discreet enquiries as to whether there is anyone in the family with heart problems, epilepsy, mental retardation or madness.
If the grand parents or parents of the bride or groom is married to close relatives, there is a possibility of begetting a mentally retarded  or a physically handicapped child.

4

Findout if there is any close relative of the bride or groom who are childless. it is also important to check both the groom and bride as progeny is the main aim of marrying apart from companionship.

5

Last but not the least is the horoscope ,as a good astrologer can predict about the health aspect and also about the hormonious life the couple would lead.

Tips

  1. It is better to look for a family that is known to you, your relatives or friends.
  2. If your family doctor knows the family, that would be ideal.
  3. Look for the general compatibility of blood groups, apart from Rh factor.
  4. Do  not hesitate to ask for a medical check up, it is like taking a preventive vaccination to prevent future tragedies.getting these tests done is in the interest of the family.
  5. Take ample to time to study and enquire about the family before making the final decision.

Caution

  1. Avoid further negotiation if any family objects to medical tests. You can take it that they have something to hide.
  2. Think twice,  if you come to know that more than two people from the family suffered from same disease.
  3. Never agree  for an alliance from within your close relatives, it has been proved in many cases that the couple is childless, or the children are born retarded /deformed or the child does not last long.
  4. Do not decide in a hurry, if the groom is from abroad and has no time for all these checkups. You can start enquiries before the groom arrives and then decide

Pre-alliance check up

Is this all practicable?

Hi

Really a practical one.

why hroscope? ? progeny

why hroscope? ? progeny should be secondary.. becoz of these unscientific idiots like you today we are 1.2 billion.. thats not something to be proud of.. it is ultimately shameful.. a country of 1.2 billion and still good for nothing.. preaching yoga[ramdeb(half naked MF total business man in disguise of a hermit)], horoscope etc etc and always the almost last one in any competetion..no wonder about that with a nation corrupted to core..
