  • Milk spots can be removed by soaking in warm glycerin.
  • Egg stains can be treated by washing in cold water and salt.
  • Chewing gum stains-chill with an ice cube scrape of the gum. And iron between two sheets of paper to remove whatever is left.

Beverage Stains

  • For tea or coffee stains-Wash the stained part immediately and then dip the stained area in glycerin over night. Wash with soap and water next day.
  • Treat Beer stains  by washing in warm water and vinegar.
  • For Cola stains-blot the stain and apply vinegar, leave for some time, wash in warm water.

Ink/Rust/Paint and Other Stains

  • To remove ballpoint ink marks, use a nail polish remover or eau-de-cologne
  • To remove rust stains- rub with lemon half over the stain and put it in the sun. Wash the garment later.
  • Mud stains on clothes can be removed by soaking in the water of boiled potatoes.
  • Fresh paint stains should be laid under a blotter and pressed with a warm iron.
  • For blood stains- soak in cold water and salt for 1 hour and wash with cold water and soap.
  • For grease stains-Dust the stain with talcum powder and put the stained part under a blotting paper and run warm iron over it till the grease is absorbed. Brush off the powder.
  • Same treatment as above may be given for wax stains also.
  • For sweat stains- wash in water in which 2 or 3 aspirin tablets have been dissolved
For lipstick stains-apply glycerin, let is soak for sometime ,then wash with warm soapy water.

Ironed in dust

I had a piece of cloth that I had to iron before making it up into a skirt for my daughter. I didn't realize until halfway through (steam) ironing that it was a bit dusty. Now the finished skirt has ironed in dust. Any hope of getting it out?
Thanks
