How to play safe while meeting/dating new people
Dating has become common even in India. Boys and girls meet together as a group to have picnics or go to discos. Sometimes your friend introduces you to a new boy who is known to her or her friend, and you give him company. Though you need not be skeptical about every person you meet, it is always safe to be cautious with the person till you are convinced that he is safe to be with. Many a time a person gets hold of your name, telephone no, email id, the name of your work place etc. gets photographed with you during a party and starts to blackmail you or send you obscene mails.Its always better to play safe than be vulnerable.
Steps
Guard your personal identity,phone number, address and workplace. Mention a nickname, and give the number of any elderly person. Do remain anonymous till you feel safe. give a third party's email address if asked.
even if you reached to a level of communicating, trust your gut feeling and quit corresponding if you feel unsure or threatened.
arrange to meet the person in populated, public place
tell your friend, or family member, who and where you are meeting
stay sober.
let the date know that your meeting is not a secret.

- Do not ask the person to pick you up.Keep your address a secret till you feel safe.
- Do not leave personal belongings and drinks unattended.
- Do not risk having your personal information stolen.
- Do keep your credit cards, keys or other id cards safe.
- Do not reveal about your personal information while chatting.
