How to make Andhra Avakaya- without oil and mustard

Andhra Avakaya is famous. But this is made without oil and mustard powder which makes it more  unique.

Things You'll Need

  1. Green mangoes        25
  2. Lemons                   12
  3. Salt                         ½ kg
  4. Chili powder             ½ kg
  5. Turmeric                  2 tsp
  6. Fenugreek seeds      2 tsp
  7. Garlic                      4 bulbs (1 large cup)

Steps

wash,wipe and cut mangoes into required size. Remove the seed and inside layer. Wipe them again.

powder fenugreek seeds (methi) add garlic and crush coarsely.  keep aside.

wash and wipe lemons and extract juice.

mix thoroughly salt, chili powder, turmeric, methi mix and lime juice with mango pieces and store in a jar.

remix after three days and add salt if required.

Caution

It is important to add enough salt, as the pickle will get spoiled with less salt.
