How to make Irani Chicken

This tasty dish is liked by one and all and is very easy to cook.

Things You'll Need

  1. Chicken                                  1 kg
  2. Onion                                     2 big ( finely chopped)
  3. Yogurt                                    1 cup
  4. Pepper powder                         1 tsp
  5. Almonds                                 6 (powdered)
  6. Cardamom                             4 (powder)
  7. Orange color                           2 pinches
  8. Salt                                        to taste
  9. Oil                                         3 tbsp
  10. Coriander leaves                     1 bunch
  11. Ginger garlic                           2 tbsp (paste)
  12. Red chili powder                      1 tbsp
  13. Cream                                   3 tbsp
  14. Saffron                                  ¼ tsp
  15. Milk                                      2 tbsp
  16. Lime                                     1 (juice)

Steps

heat oil in a pan and fry the chopped onion till it turns golden brown. keep separately.

In the same oil, sauté the washed chicken pieces and salt for 2 minutes.

Then add

  • ginger garlic paste
  • pepper powder
  • red chili powder
  • half of the cardamom powder

and cook for 2 minutes.

Add beaten yogurt, mix well and cover with a lid.cook till the chicken pieces are soft and then add the rest of the cardamom powder.

soak the saffron stands in milk and keep aside. Add 3 tbsp cream, almond powder and orange color to the chicken.

Add the saffron and milk, and lime juice. Cook on low flame until oil leaves the sides and the gravy is thick.

Take into the serving dish and garnish with coriander leaves.
