American Chop Suey is a very popular Indian Chinese dish available in most Chinese restaurants in India. The Indian Chinese version adds the spice and flavor to suit the Indian palate. Here you will learn to make delicious American Chop Suey (Chopsi).
For this receipe, we are going to use 4 packets of noodles which should be boiled in hot water, water should be drained. Then put them under cold tap water and let the water drain. Add 1 teaspoon of oil and mix the noodles with oil. Keep this aside. Take some noodles, sprinkle corn flour and dust the noodles. Then fry the noodles to which corn flour is added. The oil in which these noodles are fried should be very very hot. Fry them and keep them aside. The oil will be full of corn flour so use little bit of oil to fry the noodles.
Chicken – Cut into long pieces, add corn flour (1 teaspoon), add maida (1 teaspoon), add egg (2 ), add aginomoto (pinch). Mix it well and deep fry them in the oil and keep it aside.
Half boil cabbage, carrot and beans which are cut into long pieces. Heat oil, add onions (cut into cube shape), add capsicum (cut into long strips), cabbage carrot, beans (half boiled and cut into long pieces), add sugar ( 2 teaspoon), add salt (pinch), add aginomoto (pinch), add vinegar (1 tablespoon), add orange red food colour (pinch) and also tomato sauce, add hot stock (hot water in which chicken was boiled and kept aside for further boiling), then add corn flour paste (corn flour paste is prepared by adding cold water to corn flour) to the above mixture and stir it as we mix corn flour and make sure it is at the proper consistency (not too thick and not too loose). Decorate the above prepared chopsi on the fried noddles and serve it hot hot.
Whenever we make something with noodles, first boil the water and then add noodles to it. Leave the noodles in the boiling water for couple of minutes and then remove it from fire. Drain the water from the noodles. Place the noodles under cold tap water and then drain the water. Take 1 teaspoon of oil and mix the noodles with oil, so that the noodles will not stick to one another.
Always Chinese food should be prepared on high flame. So keep everything ready before you start cooking.
