How to make Chinese Vegetarian Sweet Corn Vegetable Soup

Chinese soups are as popular and tasty as the other Chinese dishes.

Things You'll Need

  1. sliced baby corn                      1/2 cup
  2. cream style sweet corn            1 cup
  3. finely chopped cabbage           1 cup
  4. finely diced carrot                   1 medium
  5. corn flour                              3 tbsp
  6. salt                                      to taste
  7. white pepper powder               1/4 tsp
  8. ajino moto                            1/4 tsp
  9. finely chopped spring onion     2 tbsp
  10. vegetable stock                     4-5 cups
  11. onion (sliced)                        1
  12. medium carrot(sliced)             1/2
  13. cloves garlic                           2
  14. bay leaf                                 1
  15. black peppercorns                   6
  16. cloves                                    3

Steps

To make vegetable stock boil all the ingredients in a pan with 5 cups of water. simmer for 15 minutes. strain, col.

Heat oil in a pan, add baby corn, cabbage and carrot and stir fry for 2 minutes. add vegetable stock and bring to a boil.

add the cream style sweet corn and continue cooking.

add salt,white pepper powder, Ajinomoto.Mix corn flour in half cup of water and add to the cooking soup and keep stirring continuously till the soup thickens.

Garnish with finely chopped spring onions.

Tips

It is necessary to stir the soup continuously after adding corn flour to avoid lumps.

Caution

Ajinomoto (Monosodium Glutamate) causes migraine in some. If so it can be avoided.
