We all go through a time in life where we hate ourselves for a reason or the other. There is nothing wrong in feeling so, but when you start hating yourself for every mistake you commit, then its time to back up and renew your falling self esteem. Here are a few quick things to keep in mind.
FORGIVE YOURSELF. To err is human goes the saying. We all mess up sometimes. Know, that its okay. The important part is that you realize your mistake and correct it. In order to love yourself you must first forgive yourself, for both the tiny and big mistakes.
OPTIMISM. Everytime you catch yourself thinking negatively, stop and replace it with a positive thought. When things go wrong, the first thing you do is make negative statements such as "I'm dumb and annoying", "I'm better off dead", "I'm ugly", etc. Even though it's not true. So, stop that thought right there and replace it by telling yourself that you’ll prove your thoughts wrong. AND prove them wrong!
LEARN NEW THINGS. A new language, or a new recipe or complete that childhood dream of yours. Go ahead, now’s the time, learn something new and explore yourself and the world around you.
SHARE. Open up, share your thoughts with your best friend or a trusted companion. Keeping things bottled up inside will hurt you more. Talk it out, it helps!
SOCIALISE AND HAVE FUN. Go out, meet new people, volunteer for an NGO and make new friends. Learn to Have fun, party with friends, pamper yourself at the new spa, do things that keep you happy. Enjoy the only life that you’ve got.
EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. Stop troubling yourself with those unnecessary thoughts about the mistake of the past, or the fight. Its done and its over. Take the lesson and let go of the rest. Lastly, keep reminding yourself EVERYTHING happens for a reason!
