Two tips that can lead you there,
A stress-free life and DENTAL CARE!! :-)
 
Today's fast paced life has led us to adopt a step-motherly treatment towards ourselves. Health somehow has become the least prioty for most of us in our efforts to update and upgrade ourselves in this everchanging technological world. But, just stop to ponder... can we give our best if we do not have health on our side? It's a well known fact that deals have exchanged hands just by weilding the simplest weapon- A LOVELY SMILE :-)
 
Here are some simple tips to keep yourselves looking young for long by simply preserving your BEAUTIFUL SMILE!!

Things You'll Need

  1. Just five minutes twice a day and
  2. A positive attitude !

Steps

Promise yourself that you shall allot five minutes as soon as you get up and five minutes before retiring for the night exclusively for your TEETH!
NO COMPROMISES HERE!!
Brush your teeth by following this simple technique:

  • Upper teeth in the lower direction;
  • Lower teeth in the upper direction.

See that your brush reaches all the thirty-two teeth from all sides.
Rinse your mouth thorughly. It's NOT over yet.
MASSAGE YOUR GUMS with your forefinger in the area just above the teeth, inside as well as outside.This is the exercise needed to improve the support of the surrounding tissue. Gums play an important supporting role in keeping the teeth firmly rooted in their slots.
NIGHT BRUSHING is more important than day brushing.

  • After every cup of coffee or tea that you indulge in, rinse your mouth if possible or simply drink some water. This will wash out any traces of sugar in the mouth.
  • Potato chips and the like munched during matches and movies are potential caustaive factors for cavities in your teeth.Drink some water after this too.
  • Rinse after every meal. ( Everyone does this. :-))
  • Rough and fibrous foods improve the strength of the teeth. So whenever you feel like munching, keep some carrots or apples near you instead of chocolates, chips and pastries!!

  • DO NOT EAT in between meals as far as possible.
  • Look out for warning signs for the beginning of cavities.
  • Food lodgement in some areas which makes you inadvertently head for the tooth pick, is the FIRST WARNING SIGn of the beginning of a cavity.
  • Bleeding gums indicate that all is not well with your dental health.
  • Toothache indicates that you have neglected all the warning signals and now the tooth can hold no more without the intervention of the dental surgeon. Contact one immediately.
  • PREVENTION is the BEST remedy for good dental hygiene.
  • Good dental hygiene translates into an everlasting BEAUTIFUL SMILE! :-)
  • Now club it with a positive attitude and hey presto!! you have one of the most enviable smiles that does not fade with age!

Good dental hygiene mirrors your overall health. So if you feel you are noy dentally fit, visit your family dental surgeon who is the right person to guide you further.

Eat lots of greens, vegetables, fruits, cereals and nuts. Healthy teeth in a healthy body!! :-)

Tips

  • DO NOT use a pin or a needle to dislodge any food particles. This will trigger cavity formation.
  • A toothbrush if properly used should last for a minimum of three months amd a maximum of six. Anything else indicates improper brushing technique.

 

Caution

Cigarette smoking, tobacco chewing have been proved to trigger oral cancer. White patche sinside your cheeks, angle of the mouth and irritation to spicy foods are all warning signs of some major health problem. In these cases contact your nearest dental health professional immediately.
