Rugs

Shake small rugs, hang on clothes line and brush with a soft brush.  Vacuum larger rugs on the reverse side.

• Sprinkle damp salt all over the rug on the right side and brush Sthoroughly with stiff bristled brush.
• To remove oil stains,sprinkle some baking powder over it and clean the next day with a brush.
• It would lengthen the life of the rug,if you lay it with a protective felt cloth under it.

Quilts

• Hand stitched patchwork quilts, silk quilts and antique ones are to be dry-cleaned.
• Hand washing quilts is good.  Dry the quilt over two wash lines to speed drying.

Picture Frames

• Dust and wipe for routine care.
• Wipe with damp cloth occasionally to remove spots.
• Spray glass cleaner on to a soft cloth and clean the glass

Photographs

• Choose non-adhesive acid free albums for photographs.
• Store albums in a cool, dark and dust free places.
• Pickup photos from the edges.
• Metal frames are safest for photos,as compared to wooden or plastic frames ,as they do not give off acid gases,absorb water oe attract small bugs.

Needle Work and Embroidery

• Brush gently with baby’s hair brush to remove dust.
• Hand wash and dry flat between two absorbent towels.
• Iron gently on the wrong side, between to sheets of soft cloth.
