Constipation is one of the common prevailing ailment these days.Our modern lifestyle can be blamed for this to a major extent.A person pretaining to any age group might be suffering from constipation.It shoud be diagnozied and cured at the right time as it may cause a major malfunctioin to our overall body system leading to many other problems  such as nausea,bloating,headaches,weight gain,back problems ,painful stools etc.,if not dealt in time.Herein,I am going to put forth its symptoms,prevention tips as well as home remedies to cure constipation.

Causes of Constipation:

  • Drinking of less water in daily routine.
  • Intake of more fast food ,that's low in fibre and highly spicy food items.
  • Less intake of High Fibre food.
  • Lesser body movements and due to not excercising.
  • Stress and emotional problems.

Symptoms of constipation: These are the common symptoms of being constipated.

  • Firm and hard stools that are hard and painful to pass.
  • Swelling or pain in the abdomen.
  • headache and nausea feeling.
  • Bloatedness.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Feel of slugglishness.
  • No bowel movement after3 days for adults or 4 days for children in general..
  • Blood in stool.

Prevention Tips: prevetion is better than cure.

  • Drink lots of water  daily.Intake atleast 8 glass of water  daily.
  • Have high fibre food in your diet  such as Beans,Nuts,Whole Grain Creals, Raisins,Prunes.
  • Try to have whole wheat flour for making chappattis.
  • Exercise daily or brisk walk for atleast 30 mintues daily.
  • fresh fruits vegetables are very rich in fiber. you have to take at least 5 servings of fresh fruits vegetables per day to get a lot of that fibre .
  • Avoid sugar,white flour and hot spices in your food intakes.

Home Remedies for Constipation:

  • The easiest remedy is to mix the juice of a whole lemon into a glass of warm water and drink it in the morning.
  • Take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and honey respectively and mix it in a glass of water.
  • Bananas have high fiber content. This can aid in getting back your normal bowel function.
  • Honey can act as a mild laxative. It my be good to consume one teaspoon thrice a day.
  • You can have a warm glass of milk ,put one spoon of organis honey in it and drink it anytime during day.
  • If suffering from very painful stool,then put one spoon of desi ghee(made from cow milk) in hot milk and drinking it will definiately give relief to you.
  • Try acupuncture: place your fingertips below the navel and gently press in about an inch. Hold for 3 minutes while taking deep slow breaths.

Tips

  • Avoid taking any medicines for constipation over the counter unless prescribed by doctor.
  • If stools are bloody,please consult your doctor as soon as possible.

Caution

If exercise and eating more fiber hasn't helped in 2 weeks,please consult a doctor.
