Chakuli is tastier and fresh when made at home and a good snack for children.

  2. Rice - 2cup
  3. butter - size of two big lemons
  4. jeera -1 tbsp
  5. salt inaccordance to taste
  6. oil for frying

Steps

1

Soak rice for 2 to 3 hours.  Fry urad dal till they turn reddish and when they cool down powder it and keep it aside.

2

Grind the rice to a nice paste and pour into a vessel and to it add the urad dal powder and mix it well till it becomes like a chapathi dough, soft.  To this dough add salt jeera and butter and mix it well.

3

Make fairly big  balls of the dough and put it into the chakuli pressing instrument and press it and has the dough comes out from the other end make circles out of it and put the circles on a paper .

4

Take a pan , put some oil into it and when the oil becomes hot put these chakulis which had been put in a paper inside the hot oil and fry it well.  When it has become a little brown in colour take it out.  Whenit has cooled down it may be given to children.  It will be crisp and tasty

Tips

  • Soon after the dough is made, the chakulis must be made.
  • Soon after the chakulis are made it should be transferred into an air tight box otherwise it will become soft when exposed to air for a long time
