I'm writing under educational phylosophy because I don't want students to sweat, be stressed and feel panicking when they are away from their home country. I was one of that kind 3 years ago :-)
PLAGIARISM: The first and foremost thing is that PLAGIARISM is crime in foreign countries, no copy paste. Instead there are many standards for referencing nad citing your work and you must follow those, NO EXCEPTIONS. Please give credit to the person who's work you are using.
Link to Harvard referencing guide can be found at the bottom.
Most of the universities provide lectopia(audio and video) of your lectures on universities websites. Do use them, they are worth downloading on your mobile phones and portable devices. Listen to lectopia while travelling, when you are waiting at train, tram or bus stop.
Lectures(2 hours), Tutorials(1 hour) and Labs(1-2 hours)
This is the BDS(Break down structure) of the education system in foreign countries. Each one of the above is important because lectures are big, tutorials gives you the summary of the lecture and Lab is for imlementation. Try to catch up with labs in your own time because most of the time the available hours are not enough to coplete the task.
Use library to its full extent, they are usually open 24x7. Do make use of silent floor(if you like studying in pin drop silence), book your Computers in advance.
The last step can be try to stay near university, WHY ? It saves transportation time, saves money, no excuses for missing the lectures nad you can access late labs (opened 24x7).
Don't miss your labs, tutorials and if you missed your lectures do find lectopia for that one.
